In 2016, the Tennessee General Assembly passed the FOCUS Act, changing the governance structure of higher education in Tennessee and calling for the establishment of an institutional 校董会 for 奥斯汀Peay and the other five universities previously governed by the Tennessee Board of Regents. The legislation established a 10-member board – eight voting members appointed by the governor and confirmed by the General Assembly, one nonvoting student member appointed by the 365bet 校董会 and one voting faculty representative selected by the 365bet faculty.
